About the role

Are you a strategic workforce leader with a passion for shaping the future of healthcare services and driving system-wide workforce reform?

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Principal Workforce Strategist to play a pivotal role in leading workforce strategy, planning, and reform initiatives that support the future growth and sustainability of CaFHS services across South Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence large-scale workforce and operational planning aligned to current and future infrastructure priorities, while partnering with leaders and stakeholders to deliver innovative workforce solutions that strengthen service delivery and improve outcomes for children and families.

The Principal Workforce Strategist – CaFHS is responsible for leading the development and implementation of contemporary workforce strategies that ensure the organisation is equipped to meet current and future service demands.

Working across a complex and evolving service environment, the role provides strategic leadership in workforce planning, recruitment, attraction, retention, deployment, and stakeholder engagement initiatives, with a strong focus on building a sustainable and future-ready workforce.

The role also leads high-level and complex projects and provides expert workforce and human resource advice to support organisational priorities, reform initiatives, and operational excellence.

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver high-level research, planning, and review processes to understand workforce trends and the employment proposition.
  • Develop, plan, and implement attraction, retention, and deployment plans.
  • Lead, plan, and deliver a portfolio of projects and initiatives within CaFHS to guarantee a sustainable workforce.
  • Provide mentoring and expert advice for line managers and workforce staff in advertising strategies, new recruitment processes, and more.
  • Provide leadership and assistance to the workforce change management process.
  • Analyse workforce data, trends, and emerging priorities to inform strategic decision-making and future workforce capability requirements.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and consultation processes in line with best practice principles and industrial requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the planning, establishment, implementation, review, and ongoing development/improvement of organisational frameworks, programs, and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking research to understand workforce trends and the employment proposition.
  • Experience in planning, developing, and leading the implementation of recruitment and retention strategies.
  • High-level conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to research and undertake sensitive and/or complex investigations and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and organisational change strategies.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to navigate complexity and drive outcomes in dynamic environments.
