About the role: 

Reporting to the Administration Coordinator, this role is accountable for delivering culturally appropriate, equitable, comprehensive, high quality, effective and confidential Intermediate Care focused administrative, reception and clerical services for patients/clients and staff of the SALHN GP Plus sites.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Responding appropriately and promptly to incoming calls and walk in visitors.
  • Assessing client need and providing up to date information, resources and referral options in a courteous and confidential manner.
  • Ensuring that room bookings, resources and information for programs are current.
  • Registering new clients and maintaining client record systems.
  • Providing a prompt, courteous and professional service to all clients including colleagues, other departments and the community.
  • Consistently working positively within a team (and/or across teams) to achieve team goals.
  • Referring clients to appropriate intake services and arranging appointment times as required.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail.

About you:

  • Experience providing an administrative and frontline service in a community health setting
  • Utilise high level communication skills to effectively work with, and resolve issues and conflict with, people with diverse value systems, cultural differences and special needs, including patients/clients, multi-disciplinary health professionals, other organisations and providers, and the community
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, organise and manage work effectively with limited supervision, use initiative and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate ability to be innovative and contribute to quality improvement activities
  • Experience administering client records and information management systems
  • Experience managing difficult situations and resolving conflict in a constructive manner
