About the role

Based within the Women's & Babies Division, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, this role contributes to clinical services under consultant supervision across WCHN inpatient and outpatient settings, with a primary focus on Maternal-Fetal Medicine and COGU. The position also supports clinical teaching and active participation in departmental research projects.

Key duties of the role

  • Responsibilities span outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and procedural settings, covering the full scope of obstetric and fetal medicine practice under consultant supervision.
  • Active participation in departmental education, conferences, and supervision of junior Trainee Medical Officers is expected.
  • Participation in departmental research, clinical audit, and RANZCOG curriculum research requirements is an integral part of the role.
  • Contribution to quality improvement, clinical review programs, and data collection to measure clinical indicators is expected.
  • Contribute to a team environment that promotes positivity, learning and development, safety, and welfare of employees

 Skills and Experience

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification, with eligibility for General Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Advanced Trainee progressing towards Fellowship of the RANZCOG
  • Willingness to incorporate suggestions/feedback/complaints into personal improvement
