About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian or Senior Dietitian – Food Services to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary health team within the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network. The role involves applying and growing clinical expertise to ensure high-quality, nutritionally appropriate food services that enhance patient care and outcomes. Depending on level, you will contribute to or lead menu planning, policy development, nutrition standards, audits, and quality improvement initiatives, while also supporting staff development and student education. The Senior role additionally provides clinical leadership, supervision, and strategic input into service improvement, research, and regional dietetics networks, offering a rewarding chance to shape food services across the region and make a meaningful impact on community health.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications:
Must hold a recognised qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics and be eligible for full membership of Dietitians Australia (DA), with participation in the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) Program desired.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide expert dietetic input into food service systems, including menu development, nutritional analysis, special diets, and review of commercial food products to ensure compliance with state and national standards.
  • Contribute to the coordination and delivery of high-quality meal services across the region, working collaboratively with senior clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exercise clinical judgement in applying evidence-based practice, supporting patient-centred care, health promotion, and services for diverse and rural communities.
  • Participate in continuous professional development, reflective practice, supervision, and knowledge sharing, while supporting students and less experienced staff.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, reporting, documentation, and service evaluation activities to enhance food services and patient outcomes.
