About the role

Lead the delivery of specialist child and adolescent palliative care across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Provide expert clinical nursing care, leadership, education and advice to families, health professionals and communities, improving outcomes for children with life-limiting conditions.

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver expert paediatric palliative care, providing advanced assessment, clinical intervention, case management and support to children and their families.
  • Lead and influence multidisciplinary care planning, ensuring safe, coordinated and family-centred care across healthcare settings.
  • Drive quality improvement, clinical governance and risk management initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Provide specialist education, mentoring and clinical leadership to healthcare professionals, supporting workforce capability and best-practice care.
  • Contribute to research, evidence-based practice and service innovation to advance paediatric palliative care and improve care models.

Skills and Experience

  • Current registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in paediatric palliative care nursing, delivering high-quality, family-centred care to children with life-limiting conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, mentor and support multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to drive quality improvement, lead change initiatives and apply evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.
  • Experience in education, coaching and capability development of staff, students, patients, families and community stakeholders.
