About the role

Cedar Health Service provides high quality consumer-centred, trauma-responsive comprehensive nursing health care to consumers over 16 years of age, inclusive of all genders who are experiencing domestic and family violence (DFV).

The Clinical Nurse delivers person-centred care for those affected by domestic violence, including risk assessment, care planning, outreach, and group programs. The Clinical Nurse collaborates across services, monitor outcomes, and guide consumers through referrals to support safety and recovery.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide proficient, person centred, clinical care and individual case management.
  • Triage consumers, assessing safety and risk of consumers affected by domestic violence.
  • Monitor consumer care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate group-based services.
  • Assist and support the Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities.

Skills and Experience

  • Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
  • Ability to provide specialised domestic and family violence assessment triaging and healthcare.
  • Demonstrated competence in working with consumers experiencing domestic and family violence, community health, and sexual health.
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
