Overview

Port Lincoln Hospital is the hub of health care for the Eyre Peninsula, and the Sterilisation Services team sits at the heart of safe, effective surgery and procedural care. What You'll Be Doing

Reporting within the Port Lincoln Hospital Theatre unit, you will work across the full sterilisation cycle to keep surgical and procedural services running safely and on time. Key responsibilities include:

  • Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilising reusable medical devices in accordance with AS/NZS standards and SA Health policy
  • Operating and monitoring sterilisation equipment, including autoclaves, and documenting traceability records accurately
  • Providing guidance and support to less experienced team members, contributing to quality and compliance activities
  • Identifying and escalating instrument or equipment concerns to maintain uninterrupted theatre and procedural schedules

What You'll Bring

  • Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (or equivalent), meeting SA Health credentialing requirements for a WHD4 classification
  • Demonstrated experience in a CSSD or sterilisation services environment, with sound knowledge of infection prevention principles
  • Competency in reprocessing a range of surgical instruments, including complex and delicate sets
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation and traceability processes
  • The ability to work effectively within a small, regionally based team where each member's contribution directly affects patient safety
  • Current immunisation compliance, or willingness to obtain, as required under SA Health policy
