At Streaky Bay Multi-Purpose Service, the wellbeing of older residents goes well beyond clinical care. This is a rewarding opportunity to bring creativity, connection, and purpose to the daily lives of residents at the Streaky Bay Senior Citizens Village - through a part-time, temporary contract role running until 11 December 2026.

What You'll Be Doing

Accountable to the Executive Officer/Director of Nursing through the Nurse Unit Manager Aged Care, you will plan and deliver diversional therapy programs that support independence, self-esteem, and social connection for aged care residents and people with disabilities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating individual and group diversional therapy programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities
  • Coordinating social and recreational events that foster community and a sense of belonging within the Senior Citizens Village
  • Designing therapeutic and educational activities that support daily life for older persons and people with disabilities
  • Maintaining accurate records of resident participation and program outcomes in line with SA Health standards

What You'll Bring

  • Completed AQF Certificate III in Community Services, Aged Care, Diversional Therapy, Leisure and Health, or a relevant equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated experience planning and delivering activities for older persons or people with disabilities
  • Ability to assess individual resident needs and tailor programs to promote independence and wellbeing
  • Strong interpersonal skills and genuine commitment to person-centred, respectful care
  • Familiarity with the values and reporting requirements of SA Health or a similar public health setting
