About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about developing the next generation of Allied Health professionals? This is an exciting opportunity to combine your clinical expertise, leadership skills and passion for education while making a meaningful impact across rural and remote communities.

As the Allied Health Clinical Educator, you will coordinate and enhance student clinical placements across Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Dietetics and Podiatry. Working collaboratively with universities, Rural Support Services and Allied Health teams, you will support high-quality learning experiences for students and supervisors across the network.

You will provide clinical education leadership, facilitate quality improvement and research activities, and foster positive learning environments that strengthen workforce capability and support organisational priorities. The role also contributes to the progression, implementation and evaluation of the YNLHN Allied Health Cadetship Program.

What You'll Bring

  • Recognised qualification in a relevant Allied Health profession
  • Eligibility for full membership with the relevant professional association
  • Current registration with AHPRA (where applicable)
  • Extensive clinical experience and advanced professional knowledge within your discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to support, mentor and educate students and clinical supervisors
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
  • Commitment to fostering excellence in clinical education and workforce development

Highly Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in clinical education, professional specialisation, health service management, or a related field
  • Experience working within rural and remote healthcare settings

Location

The Yorke and Northern Local Health Network encompasses the Yorke Peninsula, significant areas of the Mid North and Spencer Gulf, Southern Flinders Ranges and the Clare Valley. Its major urban centres are Port Pirie, Clare, Burra, Peterborough, Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo. 

Port Pirie Regional Health Service is the largest hospital in the region, providing emergency, acute inpatient, specialist surgical, maternal, neonatal, renal dialysis, outpatient and community health services.  

A chemotherapy unit delivers medium-risk cytotoxic treatments.  Clare Hospital and Health Services and Northern Yorke Peninsula Health Service (Wallaroo) are medium sized sites which support the region by providing emergency, acute inpatient care, surgical, maternal and neonatal, low-risk chemotherapy, outpatient and community health services.

Clare and Port Pirie also provide residential aged care and Wallaroo has recently commissioned a rehabilitation service.

What You Need to Know

The successful candidate will have the benefit of the following (subject to availability and eligibility):
