Overview

Regional communities across Eyre and Far North South Australia depend on skilled nurses who can lead with confidence and care with purpose. SA Health's Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse or Midwife to step into a part-time Associate Nurse Unit Manager role within its Specialist Nursing – Community and Allied Health team, based primarily in Port Lincoln. This is a short-term contract backfill position through to 2 October 2026, offered on a part-time arrangement.

What You'll Be Leading

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership across community and allied health settings within the EFNLHN region. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering person-centred nursing care across community and allied health services, with regular presence in Port Lincoln
  • Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and capable team culture
  • Assisting with recruitment, rostering, leave management, and operational coordination
  • Contributing to service improvement, clinical education, and change management initiatives that strengthen regional health delivery

What You'll Bring

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Minimum three years post-registration experience, or current Clinical Nurse/Midwife classification
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support nursing teams in community or specialist settings
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills suited to a regional health environment
  • Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams across geographically dispersed services
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly, including to Port Lincoln
