Make a Meaningful Difference: Direct Care Worker (Stepdown Unit)

As a Residential Care Attendant in our Stepdown Unit, you'll play a meaningful role supporting residents during a critical transition as they move from acute care back toward independent living or long-term placement.

Your Role in the Stepdown Unit

Joining the Ceduna Casual Pool, you'll provide hands-on personal care and daily living support to residents in a small, close-knit environment. This is a casual position with an engagement period through to 30 June 2027. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering person-centred care to residents in the Stepdown Unit, assisting with activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
  • Supporting residents' physical and emotional wellbeing in line with individual care plans
  • Collaborating with nursing and allied health staff to ensure safe, consistent handover and continuity of care
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with SA Health policies and the Eyre and Far North LHN standards

What You'll Bring

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
  • Experience providing personal care in a residential, hospital, or community setting
  • Understanding of or willingness to work within a stepdown or transitional care model
  • Strong communication skills, with sensitivity to the needs of people from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal communities
  • Current First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Availability and reliability to take up casual shifts as rostered across a 24/7 service
