About The Role

Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service is seeking a Medical Practitioner (Adult Internal Medicine Registrar) to join our General Medicine team. Working closely with Consultants, Visiting Specialists, Nursing and Allied Health professionals, you will provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient medical care while contributing to safe, evidence-based clinical practice. This role offers valuable exposure to a broad range of medical presentations within a regional health service and includes opportunities to participate in teaching, supervision, quality improvement and ongoing professional development. You will play an important role in supporting patient outcomes while developing your own clinical expertise in Adult Internal Medicine.

You are a motivated and patient-focused medical practitioner who enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You bring sound clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality care while continuing to develop your professional knowledge and experience.

To succeed in the Medical Practitioner (Adult Internal Medicine Registrar) role, you will:

• Hold a Bachelor of Medicine (or equivalent) and current AHPRA General Registration
• Demonstrate appropriate post-graduate medical experience
• Possess knowledge of contemporary medical practice and procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
• Work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of patient care

The General Medicine Department provides comprehensive medical care to adult patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the department delivers high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting clinical education, training, research and continuous quality improvement activities. Conditions of Employment

• A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
• A current DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.
• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA is required.
• Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A.
• SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy
