About the Role

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department where your expertise will make an immediate difference. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you'll lead mental health care, support complex clinical decisions, build strong partnerships and help shape safe, consumer-focused outcomes across the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist mental health assessment and care
• Lead clinical decisions in the Emergency Department
• Support Consultation Liaison and other mental health teams
• Guide junior doctors, students and nurse practitioners
• Build strong partnerships across health disciplines
• Maintain safe, best-practice clinical standards
• Contribute to quality, risk and service improvement work
• Support education, learning and professional development
• Represent Mental Health Services on committees and forums
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health teams

About You

You are a collaborative and compassionate Psychiatrist who brings clinical expertise, sound judgement and a commitment to high-quality mental health care.

• MBBS (or equivalent) and Specialist registration
• Fellow of RANZCP with ongoing CPD participation
• Deliver excellence in public mental health care
• Guide trainees and support multidisciplinary teams
• Apply strong clinical judgement and quality focus
