Your Role at Lyell McEwin

As a Consultant Endocrinologist, you will provide high-quality specialist clinical care across inpatient and outpatient settings at Lyell McEwin Health Service. Working within NALHN's broader endocrinology and general medicine framework, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering specialist endocrinology consultations and managing complex presentations including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and metabolic conditions
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, and case conferencing
  • Supporting the development and continuous improvement of endocrinology services within NALHN
  • Providing clinical supervision and education to junior medical staff and trainees

What You Bring

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with subspecialty recognition in Endocrinology
  • Current or eligible registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full breadth of endocrine conditions in an acute and outpatient context
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a public health multidisciplinary team at NALHN
  • A commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety consistent with SA Health standards
  • Strong communication skills with patients from diverse backgrounds, reflective of the northern Adelaide community

To be eligible for this position, you must have Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration 

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
