Join our Physiotherapy Team at SALHN

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist with specialist lymphoedema expertise to join its dedicated team.

About the role: 

Reporting to the lymphoedema work area supervisor (and ultimately to the Manager of Physiotherapy), this role is responsible for delivering high quality Physiotherapy services to a predominately outpatient based service at FMC. 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide high level PT assessment of patients referred to the Lymphoedema service, that enable appropriate PT assessments and interventions 
  • Provide high level PT intervention and management plans, including functional rehabilitation, exercise prescription, gait re-education, the prescription of compression garments and patient family/carer self management strategies.
  • Attend and actively participating in clinical meetings (eg Case Conferences, Allied Health team meetings etc) as required.
  • Support and supervise AHP1/AHA2 staff and students allocated to the work area to ensure high quality and timely service delivery
  • Ensure workloads are affectively and appropriately managed
  • Work with the work area supervisor to monitor workloads and clinical outcomes
  • Contribute to the strategic planning for physiotherapy services across relevant work areas, incorporating regular evaluation of services and reporting on quality improvement activities

About you:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Extensive and broad clinical experience as a physiotherapist within an acute teaching hospital setting
  • Physiotherapy skills in the assessment and management of patients with a broad range of conditions relevant to SALHN and the Physiotherapy Department
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Ability to apply principles of confidentiality
  • Well developed and effective written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to relate to people of various ages, cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
