About the role

The Nurse/Midwife Educator at Communication with Care (CWC) program designs and delivers engaging, evidence-based communication training that strengthens person and family-centred care. Working collaboratively across WCHN, the role supports learning, coaching, and continuous improvement in practice.

Key duties of the role

  • Ensure that implementation of the Communication With Care (CWC) program is tailored to the needs of consumer and staff representatives
  • Collaboratively implement an interdisciplinary-led educational program ensuring input from medical, nursing and allied health staff
  • Build teaching, facilitation, and coaching capability through the provision of high-quality learning, resources, and coaching that empower confident and effective practice.
  • Accountable for the oversight and coordination of administrative processes supporting the CWC education program.
  • Coordination and leadership of projects, programs and/or research to achieve improved educational outcomes and/or service delivery

Skills and Experience

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the AHPRA, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Hold or working towards a post graduate qualification in education.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • An understanding of contemporary healthcare education and the core tenets of person and family-centred care.
