About the role

The AHP3 Occupational Therapist (Neuro) provides advanced clinical leadership and specialised occupational therapy services for neurodevelopmental patients within WCHN. The role is responsible for coordinating service delivery, supervising and supporting staff, and leading clinical education, quality improvement, and protocol development. The position also manages a specialised clinical caseload and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to enhance neurodevelopmental services.

Key duties of the role

• Provides specialised neurodevelopmental occupational therapy services and contributes to quality care, continuous improvement, and a positive team culture
• Leads the development and delivery of Neurodevelopmental Occupational Therapy services through clinical leadership, quality improvement, service development, and stakeholder collaboration
• Provides specialist clinical leadership by driving service innovation, developing clinical protocols and competencies, managing complex caseloads, and delivering expert neurodevelopmental occupational therapy consultancy
• Provides clinical supervision, education, and supports professional development and quality improvement initiatives
• Supports clinical research, quality improvement, team development, and effective service delivery while maintaining confidentiality

Skills and Experience

• Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Australia Board of Australia
• Demonstrated advanced experience in paediatric Neurodevelopmental Occupational Therapy services.
• Proven leadership, supervision, and service improvement experience within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of paediatric assessment, intervention, clinical governance, and person/family-centred care principles.
• Demonstrated commitment to research, education, quality improvement, and professional development.
