Overview:

  • The Data Architect provides strategic leadership in the design, development and governance of a complex, patient‑centric enterprise data architecture, including a data lakehouse, multiple analytical platforms, and associated data integration and interoperability requirements. The role ensures that high‑value clinical, operational and research data assets are usable, trusted, secure and fit for purpose to support the objectives of the SA Cancer Network.

  • The Data Architect interprets complex business, clinical and information requirements and translates them into conceptual, logical, and physical data architectures, data models and standards. Working collaboratively with clinicians, the CEIH Clinical Informatics and Innovation Directorate (CIID), solution architects and other stakeholders, the role ensures a consistent, interoperable, and standards‑based approach to data design across systems, platforms and agencies.

  • The role leads the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of data architecture frameworks, standards, patterns, and best practices, including lakehouse design, data modelling, metadata management, master and reference data, and data integration approaches. The Data Architect provides architectural assurance to ensure data solutions align with enterprise architecture, agreed Digital Health and CIID standards, and whole‑of‑government data and digital strategies.

  • The Data Architect works collaboratively with delivery teams, customers, and stakeholders to understand data and information needs, providing authoritative technical consultancy and design guidance to inform solution options, platform adoption and investment decisions. The role ensures that data architectures enable advanced analytics, reporting, research, and insight generation as well as supporting patient‑centric care models.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).
  • A DHS ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) is required for this position.

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact).

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
