What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing and cooking bulk meals that meet nutritional and dietary requirements for hospital patients
  • Managing the ordering of non-imprest food supplies to keep the kitchen running smoothly
  • Overseeing plating, menu selections, and the day-to-day distribution of food service to appropriate standards
  • Maintaining quality control across all stages of food production, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience preparing and cooking bulk meals in a commercial or institutional kitchen
  • Practical knowledge of dietary requirements, including therapeutic and modified texture diets common in acute or aged care settings
  • Sound understanding of food safety legislation and HACCP principles relevant to SA Health food service environments
  • Ability to work independently and manage food service workflows with minimal supervision
  • Strong organisational skills, including experience with stock ordering and inventory management
  • Current or eligible Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
