Overview

Remote and rural South Australia offers something most mental health roles simply cannot: genuine breadth of practice, deep community connection, and the chance to make a visible difference in the lives of people who need skilled, thoughtful clinicians. SA Health's Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists and Social Workers to join its Community Mental Health team, with positions available in Ceduna or Port Lincoln.

Your Role in the Team

Working as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver a comprehensive range of mental health services across this expansive region. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating individualised and group-based therapeutic programs for mental health consumers across the lifespan
  • Applying preventative, early intervention and recovery-oriented frameworks tailored to rural and remote community needs
  • Contributing to clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, assistants and students
  • Collaborating with health professionals and service providers across sectors to deliver integrated, consumer-centred care

What You Bring

  • Current registration with AHPRA (Occupational Therapists) or eligibility for membership with AASW (Social Workers)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic intervention
  • Confidence practising with reduced direct supervision in a complex, community-based environment
  • Experience delivering individual, family and group therapeutic approaches
  • Understanding of the social and cultural factors shaping health outcomes in rural and remote SA communities
  • Commitment to culturally safe practice, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Life and Work at EFNLHN

SA Health offers salary packaging arrangements that meaningfully increase your take-home pay, alongside generous leave entitlements and access to professional development funding. EFNLHN is committed to supporting clinicians who choose regional practice - you will have access to clinical supervision, a collegial multidisciplinary team, and the scope to grow skills you simply would not develop in a metropolitan setting. These are ongoing positions with full-time and part-time FTE arrangements negotiable, and multiple vacancies are available across Ceduna and Port Lincoln.

Ready to Apply?

Submit your application via the SA Health careers portal. For a conversation about the role, location options or FTE arrangements before applying, reach out to the hiring manager - their details are listed in the role profile.
