Help Shape Better Outcomes for Gambling Recovery

Join the Statewide Gambling Therapy Service (SGTS) as a Consumer Consultant and use your lived experience to support others on their recovery journey from gambling harm. In this rewarding role, you will facilitate self-management groups, contribute to consumer feedback initiatives, and help shape services that better meet the needs of individuals and families across South Australia. Your unique insights will play a vital role in influencing treatment programs, promoting community awareness, and strengthening consumer participation. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing hope, encouragement, and practical support while helping to improve outcomes for people affected by gambling harm.

About you:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle and manage confidential and sensitive information, recognising circumstances when such information must be disclosed as appropriate
  • Ability to share personal experience and maintain the focus on the consumer in the process of promoting self-management
  • Current or past experience of problem gambling
  • Completion of an evidence based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) treatment
  • Ability to relate to consumers who have a wide range of cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds
