Be the Heart of Ward 5A – Administrative Assistant

Join Ward 5A as an Administrative Assistant and play a key role in supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care through high-quality administrative, clerical and reception services. In this fast-paced hospital environment, you will maintain and update patient information within Sunrise EMR PAS, manage document scanning through SDM Capture, and ensure accurate communication of patient admission, transfer and discharge details. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, Ward Coordinators, Patient and Bed Managers, consultants and multidisciplinary teams, you will help coordinate patient flow, bed allocation and transport arrangements to support efficient ward operations. This rewarding role is ideal for a proactive and organised individual who can work autonomously, use sound judgement and build strong collaborative relationships across the health service.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Ward Administrative Assistant/Admin Assistant
  • Experience working with distressed patients/carers with empathy
  • Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
