What You'll Be Doing
As part of the NALHN 2027 Casual Pool, you'll be called upon to support nursing teams across northern Adelaide metro facilities, stepping in where you're needed most. Your day-to-day will include:
- Delivering direct personal care and support to patients under the supervision of registered nursing staff
- Assisting with activities of daily living including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition
- Observing and reporting changes in patient condition promptly and accurately
- Contributing to a safe, respectful ward environment in line with SA Health policies and NALHN care standards
What You'll Bring
- Strong interpersonal skills and a person-centred approach to care
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Understanding of infection control and manual handling procedures
- Current immunisation status meeting SA Health requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing and have completed any training required by the employer relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level.
Applicants are required to be in the 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate Nursing Degree or final year of Graduate Entry (Flinders Uni) or Master of Clinical Nursing in 2027.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services – adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
Primary Health Care Services – including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
