Your Role at Mental Health Adult Inpatient Services
As a Senior Social Worker within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) Mental Health Service, you will provide specialist psychosocial assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for adults admitted to the Mental Health Adult Inpatient Unit. Working within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough psychosocial assessments and developing goal-focused care plans in collaboration with consumers and their support networks
- Leading complex case coordination and discharge planning to support safe transitions back into the community
- Providing clinical consultation and practice guidance to less experienced social work and allied health staff
- Engaging carers and families as active partners in the recovery-oriented model of care
What You Bring
- Eligible membership or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Substantial post-qualifying experience in mental health, ideally within an acute or inpatient setting
- Demonstrated expertise in psychosocial assessment, risk formulation, and recovery-oriented practice
- Strong working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2009 (SA) and relevant legislative frameworks
- Proven ability to navigate complex family and systemic dynamics across culturally diverse communities
- Experience contributing to multidisciplinary team decision-making at a senior clinical level
To be eligible for this position, you must an Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
