About the role

As a Research Data Scientist, you'll transform complex pathology data into meaningful insights that support ground breaking research, inform strategic decisions and improve health outcomes. Working within SA Pathology's Research and Innovation team, you'll develop research-ready datasets, build dashboards and reporting solutions, and provide expert advice on data management, analytics and privacy.

Working closely with researchers, data specialists and key stakeholders, you'll solve complex data challenges, develop innovative analytics solutions and turn raw data into actionable insights. This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical expertise to advance research and make a genuine impact on healthcare across South Australia.

You're an analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and turning data into meaningful insights that make a real difference. You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate technical information clearly and are passionate about using data to support research, innovation and better healthcare outcomes. To be successful in this role you will:

  • Apply advanced scientific and analytical expertise to interpret complex data and deliver high-quality, evidence-based solutions.
  • Communicate confidently with a broad range of stakeholders, translating complex technical information into clear, practical insights.
  • Work independently while managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines and contributing positively to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Bring extensive experience in data analytics, research datasets and business intelligence tools, with a passion for continuous improvement and data-driven decision making.
