About the role

You will be responsible for the production of high-quality orthoses/prostheses provided to inpatients and outpatients of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). Keeping up to date with contemporary fabrication techniques and materials, you will manufacture orthotic and prosthetic devices in a timely manner to the clinicians' specifications. You will also assist with the repair and modification of existing orthoses and prostheses, stock control and purchasing, contribute to data collection and participate in continuous improvement and quality activities as directed. You will be working collaboratively with O&P Clinical, Technical and Administrative staff.

You will need to have the physical strength, flexibility and endurance sufficient for manual handling of patient equipment, machinery and hand tools, along with the ability to carry out routine tasks with direction, following guidelines and specifications. You will have good mechanical reasoning, technical aptitude and ability to work with your hands, demonstrating an ability to clearly, accurately and succinctly document technical procedures. A sound understanding of work health and safety principles and procedures will be essential. You will be committed to maintaining confidentiality, communicating courteously and effectively with colleagues, and interacting with others in a tactful, sensitive and ethical manner.

About You

You bring practical technical skills, a safety focused approach and a commitment to quality, helping deliver orthotic and prosthetic solutions that make a real difference.

• Certificate III in Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology or equivalent
• Experience in technical manufacturing with tools and machinery
• Strong mechanical skills with safe, accurate work practices
• Organised, reliable and confident using Microsoft Office
• Clear communicator who values quality, teamwork and confidentiality
