What You'll Be Working On
Reporting within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) and based at Lyell McEwin Health Service, you will deliver specialist biomedical engineering support across a broad clinical equipment portfolio. Your day-to-day will include:
- Performing scheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of medical devices and systems to manufacturer and Australian Standards requirements
- Coordinating equipment acceptance testing and safety inspections to support clinical risk management
- Maintaining accurate records within the asset management system and contributing to equipment lifecycle planning
- Providing technical guidance to clinical and operational staff on safe equipment use and escalation pathways
What You'll Bring
- A qualification in electrical/electronic engineering, biomedical engineering technology, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of medical or complex electronic equipment
- Familiarity with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements relevant to medical devices (including AS/NZS 3551)
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work methodically under competing priorities
- Experience working within, or willingness to align with, SA Health's safety and quality frameworks
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for liaising with clinical teams and external service agents
To be eligible for this position, you must have a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services – adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
Primary Health Care Services – including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
