About the Role:
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a Clinical Nurse, who is passionate about contributing to the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders communities, to join the Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Health Service.
As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering culturally appropriate care and support to Aboriginal clients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care during their medical appointments and treatments in Adelaide.
To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

Your Role in the Team
Working within the Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Health Service you will deliver evidence-based nursing care to individuals and families across a diverse community. This is an ongoing, full-time position offering genuine scope to practise at the top of your clinical registration.
- Provide comprehensive nursing assessment, care planning, and health education to patients in primary care settings
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support coordinated, person-centred care pathways
- Contribute to chronic disease management, preventive health, and early intervention programs
- Support continuity of care by maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with SA Health standards
What You Bring
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated clinical experience in primary health care, community, or general practice nursing
- Sound understanding of chronic disease management frameworks relevant to SA Health primary care models
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage sensitively with people from varied cultural and social backgrounds
- Capacity to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
- Current Australian driver's licence suitable for community-based service delivery

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services – adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
Primary Health Care Services – including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
