About the Role

Looking for a rewarding nursing career where your skills truly make a difference? As an Enrolled Nurse, you'll work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, compassionate and high-quality care across a variety of healthcare settings.

You'll play an important role in supporting patients throughout their care journey by implementing nursing care plans, assisting with both general and specialised nursing procedures, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while planning and prioritising your own workload, exercising sound judgement within your scope of practice, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. You'll also be encouraged to continue building your professional expertise through ongoing education and post-enrolment learning, ensuring you remain current and confident in your practice.

Essential Criteria

To ensure that we meet that commitment there are a few checks that you will be required to undertake. These are detailed on the Role Description, but are likely to include:

  • Registration or eligibility for enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse (ENC/END) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • At least one year of work experience as an Enrolled Nurse (desirable).
  • Undergo employment screening and meet immunisation requirements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, recognise and report changes in clinical condition.
  • Ability to provide person-centred care.

Maitland Hospital Services

All services are conveniently located under one roof, delivering both acute and aged care, including Transitional Care Services. The hospital’s Renal dialysis Unit operates as a satellite service with four chairs, supporting up to eight clients, three days per week.

Maitland Hospital provides 24/7 Emergency Department services, ensuring timely care for the local community. Medical coverage is supported by locum doctors and advanced telehealth services, including:

  • MedSTAR
  • SA Virtual Emergency Service (SAVES)
  • SA Virtual Care Service (SAVCS)

This integrated model ensures high-quality care is delivered close to home.

Nurses work across acute medical, aged care, and emergency services, providing comprehensive care to all patients presenting to the hospital.
