Lead the Team Behind Better Ageing | GEM Allied Health Manager

You'll drive quality care, support your team's development, and work closely with medical, nursing, and community partners to ensure older South Australians transition through the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network with the best possible outcomes. Based in Adelaide's southern metro and running through to 30 June 2027, it's a genuine leadership opportunity that pairs meaningful clinical impact with the flexibility of part-time hours.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Allied Health Director, this role is responsible for the planning, provision, standards and management of Allied Health Services to the SALHN GEM Service, including the OPAL/RCOT ward.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure that service provision and the activities of the GEM and OPAL/RCOT services are person and family centred and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
  • Ensure the effective management of human, financial and physical assets through appropriate planning and allocation of resources to achieve agreed GEM and OPAL/RCOT service and strategic plans,
  • The incumbent will lead the service and actively demonstrate commitment to the SALHN Mission ‘A thriving community, providing reliable and respectful health care,
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers

About you:

  • Appropriate qualification from a recognised tertiary institution giving eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association where appropriate,
  • Ability to assume a high level of professional responsibility and to function at a high level of professional competence and autonomy.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage a staff team,
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, liaison, administration and teamwork. Able to apply these skills in resolving management, administrative and professional problems, and in communicating with professional and management staff,
  • Clinical experience as a senior allied health practitioner within a subacute setting, including clinical experience with complex patients,
  • Recent experience working in a specialist geriatric inpatient unit,
  • Proven experience in a management or leadership role,
  • Demonstrated experience in service development, implementation and evaluation of services
