Cummins Hospital is a cornerstone of healthcare in the Eyre Peninsula - and the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) is looking for an experienced registered nurse or midwife ready to step into a leadership role that genuinely shapes care for a close-knit rural community.

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, you will play a hands-on leadership role across the Cummins Multi-Purpose Service acute ward, supporting both clinical delivery and team development. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering and overseeing nursing care to acute patients, drawing on consolidated clinical expertise to model proficient, evidence-based practice
• Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in the day-to-day leadership of registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and care workers
• Providing guidance, supervision, and professional development to less experienced staff and student nurses
• Accepting accountability for your own practice standards and for activities delegated across the team

What You'll Bring

• Current registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, including a current practising certificate
• A minimum of three years acute post-registration experience, or current classification as a Clinical Nurse or Midwife
• Demonstrated competence in acute nursing practice aligned with relevant professional standards
• Proven experience supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses, and care workers in a clinical setting
• The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small, multidisciplinary rural health team
• A commitment to person-centred, holistic care that reflects the values of EFNLHN and the communities it serves
