Overview:

The Strategic Contracts and Procurement Manager is responsible for the strategic analysis, procurement and ongoing management of Consolidated Service Contracts associated with Biomedical Equipment across SA Health.

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role provides specialist contract management, procurement and commercial advice to support the planning, establishment, implementation, monitoring, renewal and continuous improvement of consolidated contract arrangements on behalf of Local Health Networks (LHNs) and Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS), where consolidation delivers value for money, service consistency and effective risk management.

  • The role provides expert contract management, procurement and commercial advice to senior stakeholders, to support complex decision-making, resolve contractual and operational issues, manage risks, and influence effective statewide outcomes through collaborative stakeholder engagement and consultation.

  • The role is accountable for the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of statewide contract strategies, governance frameworks, service delivery models, performance monitoring processes, financial management practices and stakeholder engagement activities in relation to outsourced biomedical engineering service arrangements.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact).

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

  • Participate in on-call roster and overtime as required.
  • May be required to travel intrastate, interstate or overseas for training or to conduct work at other SA BME sites, client sites or related industry sites (SA Health and non-SA Health).
  • May be required to stay over-night for short periods away from home.
  • Will be required to have a valid driver’s licence and to abide by any relevant SA Health guidelines related to use of motor vehicles if driving is a job requirement.
  • May be required to work at a higher classification level for short periods to cover for absent employees of SA BME.
  • Will be required to hold any specialised licences relevant to the position.
