About the role

The Administrative Officer -Information Release is accountable to the Information Release Manager on a day-to-day basis for the provision of a consumer orientated service to facilitate access to clinical and corporate information requested by internal and external consumers.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide front-line customer service and promptly respond to enquiries regarding WCHN patient/client information, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate information release procedures.
  • Office processes and procedures are developed, implemented, maintained, and evaluated in conjunction with colleagues and management.
  • Ensure requests pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act are administered in accordance with specific guidelines and recorded using FOI office process.
  • Maintaining medical records and client files and liaising with Medical Records for maintenance of patient records.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all requests and documents, and identify and discuss opportunities to improve ROI processes with the Information Release Manager.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of work.
  • Previous administration/clerical experience, with knowledge of records management and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, with basic knowledge of medical terminology.
