About the role

The Senior Dietitian – Food Service leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of food service systems, menus, policies and projects to ensure safe, nutritionally adequate patient care. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and provides guidance to dietitians and nutrition students.

Key duties of the role

  • Review and update nutrition related education resources, policies and procedures.
  • Implement and evaluate Food Service-related health care initiatives, projects, and partnerships.
  • Work with associated health professionals to ensure that menus and recipes are appropriate and meet state/national standards.
  • Develop special diet menus and recipes.
  • Provide advice on nutritional aspects of meal management.

Skills and Experience

  • An appropriate Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Eligible for membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  • Experience in food service dietetics.
  • Experience in supervising and teaching students.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health care and nutrition issues for women, children and young people.
