About The Role

Start or refresh your acute nursing career with the Enrolled Nurse Transition to Professional Practice Program at Naracoorte Health Service.

This structured 26-week transition program is designed for newly graduated Enrolled Nurses, as well as Enrolled Nurses who have not recently worked in the acute sector. The program provides an opportunity to consolidate and refine your knowledge, confidence and clinical skills while gaining valuable experience in an acute healthcare environment.

Working under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses, you will provide person-centred care, develop your clinical practice and contribute as a valued member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

About You

You are an enthusiastic Enrolled Nurse ready to build your confidence and capability in acute nursing. You are committed to person-centred care, ongoing learning and professional development and bring effective communication, teamwork and the ability to recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a patient's clinical condition.

To succeed in the Enrolled Nurse Transition to Professional Practice Program, you will:

• Be registered or eligible for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
• Have completed an approved program of study that includes administration of medicines if administering medications.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate the ability to prioritise your workload, recognise and report changes in clinical condition and provide safe, person-centred care.
• Bring an understanding of the Enrolled Nurse role and a commitment to developing your clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing learning and evidence-based practice.

About Nursing at Naracoorte Health Service

Naracoorte Health Service provides a range of healthcare services to the local community, with this Enrolled Nurse role based within Acute / Moreton Bay House.

As part of the nursing team, you will work alongside Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, person-centred care. The role provides opportunities to develop skills in patient assessment, routine clinical procedures, care planning and recognising and responding to clinical deterioration while building experience within the acute environment.

The Transition to Professional Practice Program provides a supportive pathway to consolidate your nursing knowledge and develop greater confidence and capability in acute clinical practice.

• A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) is required for this position.
• A current NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
• Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A.
