• Salary – MD2, $243,212.00 to $320,467.00 + 12% Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits (not inclusive of leave loading, superannuation, attraction and retention allowance, and any other monetary allowances as outlined in the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2025).

About the role

The Consultant provides specialist cardiology services across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to optimise patient outcomes. The Consultant maintains clinical excellence through adherence to standards, quality review programs, education, research, and collaborative teamwork to support effective and efficient service delivery.

Key duties of the role

• Provide a high standard of clinical practice through adherence to policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Active participation in clinical review programmes to monitor standards of practice.
• Provide effective and efficient medical services to inpatients, outpatients, and community.
• Contribute to and facilitate education programmes.
• Assess and appraise medical undergraduates and trainee medical officers.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
• Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
• Previous significant clinical experience in paediatric cardiology.
• Experience in non-invasive imaging, particularly advanced echocardiography including transthoracic echocardiography.
• Skills in clinical problem solving and decision making.
