Overview

Cleve Hospital and the surrounding Eyre Peninsula community rely on well-maintained facilities to support the delivery of quality care. This casual position has been established to provide backfill cover for the Maintenance Officer when on leave - making your availability and reliability just as important as your trade skills. What You'll Be Taking Care Of

• Stepping into the Maintenance Officer role during periods of planned and unplanned leave, ensuring continuity of facility operations at Cleve Multi-Purpose Service
• Carrying out general interior and exterior maintenance including carpentry, painting, plumbing and mechanical repairs
• Performing regular grounds maintenance and rubbish collection to keep the facility safe and presentable
• Using a wide range of hand and power tools to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard, working independently under limited direction

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience in building and grounds maintenance across a range of trades or maintenance disciplines
• Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools safely and competently
• Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of staff and with people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in day-to-day tasks without close supervision - essential when stepping in as the sole maintenance contact on site
• Commitment to confidentiality and discretion, consistent with the standards expected within an SA Health facility
