Overview:

The SA Health Distribution Centre Operations & Lean Manager is accountable for end-to-end operational leadership and optimisation of the Cold Storage Vaccine Distribution Centre (VDC), the Ambient SA Health Distribution Centre (DC), the SAAS On-the-Road (OTR) Logistics function, and contracted transport providers supporting statewide distribution.

• Reporting to the Associate Director, Distribution Centre, the role is accountable for ensuring the safe, efficient, compliant, and reliable movement of vaccines, scheduled medicines, consumables, and other critical health supplies across South Australia, within a complex, multi-site statewide health logistics network.
• The role is responsible for translating strategic direction into operational execution, ensuring that the SA Health Distribution Centre strategy is effectively implemented, embedded, and sustained across warehouse and transport functions.
• The position provides operational leadership aligned to the SCE Distribution Centre Operational Excellence Model, translating this into optimised warehouse and transport operations, embedded Lean practices, assured cold-chain integrity, and full compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), Dangerous Goods (DG), Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), and Wholesale Dealers Licence (WDL) requirements.
• The role fosters a high-performance, safety-focused culture, ensuring operations are standardised, sustainable, and responsive to evolving service demands. It provides operational insight and performance advice to the Associate Director to support strategic decision-making and continuous system improvement.
• The role requires availability for after-hours contact to support business continuity and respond to critical operational incidents impacting service delivery.

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

• On-call availability required to respond to critical infrastructure, safety, or security incidents
