About the Role

Join the nursing team at Bordertown Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse/Midwife and make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of our regional community.

Working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide safe, evidence-based and person-centred nursing and/or midwifery care, assessing individual needs and planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate care. As you develop from novice to proficient practice, you’ll build your clinical capability through experience and ongoing professional development while taking accountability for your own standards of care and delegated activities. You’ll also contribute to quality improvement, health education and the development of students and less experienced staff.

About You

You’re a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse/Midwife committed to delivering high-quality, person and family-centred care. You communicate effectively, work confidently within multidisciplinary teams and bring strong clinical judgement, organisation and problem-solving skills. You’re committed to developing your practice and contributing positively to a supportive regional healthcare team.

To succeed in the Registered Nurse/Midwife role, you will:

  • Be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practising certificate.
  • Demonstrate competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with appropriate standards of practice.
  • Bring effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while managing and prioritising your workload.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to consumer/client and family-centred care, with the flexibility and initiative to respond effectively within a healthcare environment.

About Nursing at Bordertown Memorial Hospital

As part of the nursing team at Bordertown Memorial Hospital, you’ll provide direct person-centred care while working closely with nursing colleagues, other health professionals and external organisations to meet the needs of patients, clients and families.

The role provides opportunities to build clinical capability, participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice, provide health education, and support students, graduates and less experienced staff. As your experience develops, you’ll work with increasing autonomy and may provide team coordination, support and guidance within the clinical environment.
