About the Role:
This role focuses on innovative research infood lipid and flavour science, utilizing advanced analytical technologies to optimize sustainable food ingredients and products. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading high-impact research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervising postgraduate students and mentoring emerging researchers.
- Identify new sources and ingredients for food and nutraceutical applications with particular emphasis on oils/fats, natural sweeteners, colourants, and flavours..
- Securing research funding and managing collaborative projects with industry and government partners.
- Analysing ingredients using cutting-edge techniques like GC-MS, LC-MS, and HPLC.
- Enhancing food quality through ingredient innovations and process improvements.

About You:
You are an experienced researcher in food chemistry or technology with a proven track record in:
- Publishing high-quality research and securing competitive grants.
- Supervising students to successful completion.
- Innovating plant-based food formulations with practical industry knowledge.
- Analytical chemistry techniques for lipid, flavour, and sugar analysis.
A PhD in Food Science or a related field is essential, alongside strong technical expertise and knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).
