About the position
The Domestic Student Recruitment Advisor is responsible for building strong relationships on behalf of the University in order to achieve its strategic goal of recruiting high quality applicants throughout Australia. This will encompass relationship building with targeted secondary schools and implementing a range of student recruitment initiatives. The position has ownership of a key strategic portfolio area.
Domestic Student Recruitment is responsible for implementing an acquisition and conversion strategy on behalf of the University in order to achieve its strategic goal of recruiting high quality domestic applications. This includes management of course enquiries, facilitation of direct admissions and alternative entry schemes and the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment across Australia.
Duties at this level:
- Manage and implement high quality key student recruitment events such as the annual Career Practitioners Conference and campus Open Day and initiatives to drive applications for the Bendigo campus.
- Manage and recruit students into La Trobe’s Aspire Early Entry Programs and Pathways across the Greater Bendigo region.
- Represent the University at selected recruitment activities and exhibitions.
- Provide ongoing analysis of competitor activity, including recruitment strategies, ATAR activity, development of new courses and enrolment patterns.
- Present information to a range of different audience types, ranging from Year 10-12 secondary school students, TAFE students, Career Advisors/Teachers and internal stakeholders.
- Other duties as requested by the Senior Manager, Domestic Student Recruitment that is commensurate with the classification of this position and with the knowledge skills and training of the incumbent.
Skills and knowledge:
- An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage events and projects.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking ability with experience in tailoring communications to different audiences.
- Willingness to travel and work outside normal office hours on occasion including some evening work and overnight travel.
- A current Victorian driver’s license.
