About the position
Join La Trobe University’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) team as an EDI Consultant, where you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling La Trobe’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible, respectful, and equitable workplace culture. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager and as part of a small, dedicated EDI team, you’ll be instrumental in providing operational support to deliver the University’s EDI function, drive the EDI agenda and contribute to measurable progress across various action plans and programs.
A key aspect of this role is ensuring the University meets its strategic EDI commitments by supporting governance, monitoring, reporting, and project management. The role oversees and assists in delivering staff-focused EDI initiatives and projects aligned with the University’s Strategic Plan, HR priorities, relevant diversity action plans, as well as the University’s new EDI Strategy and Framework.
Additionally, the role will manage and streamline internal EDI reporting, ensuring accurate data collection, thorough analysis, and high-quality reporting to support informed decision-making on EDI initiatives and highlight progress and impact.

Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
• An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience a; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.
• Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
• Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation or interpretation of data.
