Summary: Casual opportunity for an emerging producer to work with us on an upcoming project in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo.


Work type: Casual basis (55 hours over the total 4-month period March – July 2026)

Location: Bendigo (Regional) campus onsite

Salary range: HEO 3 / Casual rate as per LTU Enterprise Agreement 2023 plus super  

Position Purpose

Funded by City of Greater Bendigo, the entry-level Production Officer will play an important role in the development, production, and delivery of the fourth iteration of LAI’s 2026 Stepping Out program, delivered in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo and Emporium Creative Hub. 

Stepping Out is a free, full-day professional development event designed for emerging visual artists who are seeking to navigate the art world, establish a sustainable practice, and build visibility for their work. Through panels, workshops, and networking opportunities with artists and industry professionals, the program shines a light on the visual arts ecosystem in regional Victoria and beyond. This role offers hands-on experience in program planning and execution within a collaborative arts environment, contributing meaningfully to LAI’s mission of strengthening the creative and cultural fabric of our region.

Duties at this level will include:

  • Support the coordination and delivery of the Stepping Out professional development program, including planning, logistics, and documentation.
  • Attend contribute to development, production, and planning meetings, recording and tracking agreed actions.
  • Collate and prepare program content such as artist/speaker biographies, event schedules, and handouts.
  • Assist in briefing speakers by preparing session runsheets and other event-related documentation.
  • Create documents and presentations from supplied briefs using software such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Coordinate ticketing and registrations, maintaining accurate records and supporting communication with attendees.
  • Other duties as outlined in the PD.

You will possess:

  • Completion of Year 12 or Certificate II, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Interest in visual arts or event coordination and community engagement.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills; able to prioritise and work independently or in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common software.
  • Flexible and proactive with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Able to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Applicants must live, work or study in Greater Bendigo to be eligible for this role.
