Salary range: Rate of Pay - Academic Casual rates as defined in the La Trobe University Enterprise Agreement 2023 (EA) (dependent upon individual teaching responsibilities, i.e. lectures, tutorials, marking, meetings, etc.) 

Hours - Casual (hours are dependent upon individual teaching activities available and assigned.)

Position Purpose

The school may offer from time-to-time casual teaching opportunities in the following discipline areas:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education
  • Curriculum, assessment, and reporting
  • Digital literacy
  • Disciplinary or specialist content: e.g. mathematics 7-12
  • Early childhood education
  • Education leadership
  • Education policy
  • Education psychology
  • Educational research
  • Educational theory
  • Gender and sexuality studies in education
  • Health education
  • Humanities
  • ICT in teaching and learning
  • Inclusion and diversity in education
  • Language and literacy
  • Mathematics and numeracy
  • Outdoor education
  • Pedagogy
  • Physical education
  • Philosophy of education
  • Professional experience support
  • Sociology of education
  • Social theory of education
  • Supportive and safe learning environments
  • Teaching students from diverse backgrounds
  • Other

Duties at this level will include:

  • Duties may include teaching, marking, provision of feedback and attendance at teaching team meetings.

You will possess:

1.       To teach at an undergraduate level an Honours degree, Graduate Diploma or higher is required in a relevant discipline.

2.       To teach at postgraduate level a doctorate in a relevant discipline is normally required.
