The role
The Head of Cyber Security will lead the team delivering the day-to-day cyber security strategy, risk management and cyber operations for the Distribution business unit covering both IT and OT. They will drive and manage compliance with the NIS Regulatory requirements and will provide specialist support into the large Ofgem funded cyber transformation programmes in Distribution. They will also act as the liaison point to maximise leveraging skills and services from the teams that provide Group wide cyber security services.
You will
- Drive and champion the cyber security strategy, risk management and NIS regulatory compliance for the Distribution Business Unit while collaborating across the Group’s cyber security community and leveraging Group wide cyber security services.
- Lead the engagement of the cyber security outsourced consulting service into Distribution projects and programmes and to manage and prioritise demand. This includes the co-ordination of cyber security OT and IT requirements, engagement with stakeholders and use of standard architecture patterns and planning of assurance.
- Provide specialist support to the Distribution Cyber Resilience Programme to the agreed regulatory and compliance standards in line with Ofgem requirements.
- Overseeing cyber security operations and control position for Distribution systems and assets working with system and service owners including network security, vulnerability management, identity management and detection and response. Perform business unit testing to identify control issues and work with owners to drive control improvement.
- Work with peer Heads of Cyber Security to align and challenge cyber security risk positions to help drive consistency and efficiency and strategy across the Group.
You have
- Deep cyber security experience in defining cyber security strategy from working in a Critical National Infrastructure or large and complex organisation including practical Network & Information Systems regulatory experience.
- Extensive experience in cyber security risk management, governance, control frameworks, operations and regulatory requirements with a specific focus on business outcomes and service delivery.
- Proficiency in OT cybersecurity, including relating to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) security including experience with security systems like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering.
- Strong ability to convey complex information risk and security issues in a manner that is easily understood and actionable and constructively challenges prevailing thoughts and processes.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills to interface with and build credibility and relationships with stakeholders and are a energetic self-starter, with a strong sense of urgency to improve the cyber security control position.
