Join our team as a Financial Controller at The Star Brisbane.
The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.
The Financial Controller reports directly to the Property Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for delivering high quality, customer service oriented general accounting services for The Star Brisbane. You will ensure compliance with all external and internal regulatory requirements and ensure protection of business assets
A few of your responsibilities:
- Lead financial accounting services for the property including journal preparation, month end GL close, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting and tax support.
- Ensure delivery of monthly reporting including Balance Sheets, reconciliation summaries and P&L analysis.
- Develop close engagement with broader finance team covering deliverables, communication and escalation channels.
- Lead the resolution of issues that arise in relation to the provision of these services (e.g. accounting issues, control issues) and escalate as required.
- Provide information and support for the half year / annual reporting including audit support.
What we are looking for:
- High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in managing a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and CA/CPA qualified
- Demonstrated experience in similar accounting role for 5 years or more
- Good knowledge of Oracle or similar large ERP system, TM1, Excel
