This is a 12-month secondment role to support our team with opportunity to extend. It’s a great opportunity to step into a dynamic and supportive environment.
The Safer Gambling Duty Manager reports directly to the Director of Safer Gambling and is accountable for managing the daily operational functions of Safer Gambling and addressing guest situations in alignment with appropriate ICMs and SOPs to achieve the organisation objectives. You will also support the Director of Safer Gambling in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Safer Gambling strategy by ensuring effective training of team members.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Communicate and implement policies and procedures to all employees ensuring Safer Gambling standards are maintained.
- Ensure a strong communication platform is built and maintained between the Safer Gambling team and all other operating business units
- Support guests who are self-excluded (or a Problem Gambling Exclusion) to access gambling treatment or financial counselling
- Pro-actively identify areas of business process that can minimise gambling related harm and promote to the Director of Safer Gambling for use across the organisation
- Develop and manage team engagement, reward and recognition, performance and development including coaching and mentoring, managing employee relations, conflict and unsatisfactory performance and disciplinary processes
What we are looking for:
- Experience in guest relations, Safer Gambling, support services, social work, security or education, preferably tertiary qualifications in psychology
- Demonstrated ability to develop productive relationships, policies, and safer gambling strategies
- Proven people management experience including driving team member engagement, capability and development and managing unsatisfactory performance
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the company.
- Demonstrated experience in senior leadership capacity
- Experience in managing a rostered team across a 24 x7 business operational model
