We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Financial Crime Controls reporting to the Head of Financial Crime Governance and Training to join The Star!
 
Position Purpose:
 
Support in leading the Financial Crime Risk team, to implement the strategic direction, optimise controls management performance and business operations. Deliver robust controls management solutions, harnessing automation to drive an increase in the efficacy of the control framework and execution efficiencies. Participate in the design, delivery and management of the controls library and register for the Financial Crime Risk, ensure maintenance of the register (including ongoing improvement and adherence to the Control Standard), the testing of controls on a risk-based approach and conduct frequent (on a risk weighted basis) Risk and Control Self Assessments and associated remediation actions (where appropriate).
 
To deliver an agile, insightful and sought-after internal audit service.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Influence the controls culture and participate in the development of team capability.
  • Support the effectiveness and efficacy of the Financial Crime controls library and register, with continual uplift, and adherence to regulatory expectations (state and federal).
  • Enable business leaders and control owners by reviewing and revising controls within the controls library and register.
  • Support with the design, delivery and management of the Financial Crime controls library and register enabling business leaders and control owners in the use of the control register. Comply with processes to improve controls for adequate risk and compliance management.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a legal, commercial, or business field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial crime strategy, remediation, change or transformation in a casino/gaming or wagering environment, bank, corporation, government agency, or equivalent consulting or vendor experience.
  • Experience in advising and delivering solutions on control suitability for processes, including control design, implementation, and ongoing management.
  • Experience as a risk operations control, risk or compliance senior manager within a large organisation, complex, highly regulated organisation.
  • Ability to identify risks and pivot resources and delivery approach accordingly.
  • Strong understanding and experience in implementing business drivers for problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing effective relationships and managing and driving change.
  • Ability to manage and communicate with employees and promote positive employee relations.
  • Ability to interpret data and information and the provision of key insights.
  • Ability to provide audit reports and analysis on the business.
  • Can interpret and understand internal and external customer needs and meet their requirements.
  • Ability to communicate and implement all statutory processes.
  • Demonstrate ability in understanding the impact of decisions and changes and communicate the process through to employees.
