As our Safer Gambling Senior Duty Manager, reporting to the Director Safer Gambling, you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Safer Gambling strategy as well as provide training for team members and the wider business to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with The Star’s values and associated laws and regulation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dedicated team, providing direction and leadership to ensure an exceptional guest experience, uphold welfare standards, conduct detailed risk assessments, and maintain full regulatory and legal compliance.
Please note, this is a 12-month secondment opportunity.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Safer Gambling through attendance of meetings to ensure compliance
- Lead engagement, coaching and performance management for the Safer Gambling team
- Build strong communication channels across business units and support strategy development
- Deliver and review Safer Gambling programmes, policies, and training to ensure legal and regulatory compliance
- Identify risks, manage exclusions, and support guests and employees affected by gambling harm
- Assess operational compliance, maintain accurate data, and support system improvements and reporting
What we will be looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership capacity, with proven people management experience, including driving team member engagement, capability and development
- Proven ability to build productive relationships that drive positive change within your team and with external stakeholders
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the Gaming industry
- Ability and aptitude for delivering difficult decisions and communications
- Qualifications in psychology or counselling as well as experience in safer gambling and harm prevention and minimisation programmes (highly regarded)
