The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.

This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city.The Star Brisbane is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant. In this role you will deliver high quality, customer service orientated general accounting services for The Star Brisbane ensuring delivery to deadlines and compliance with policies.

A few of your responsibilities:

• Perform financial accounting services for the property/function including journal processing, month end GL close, balance sheet reconciliations, basic management reporting and tax support.
• Assist with delivering monthly reporting to business partners including Balance Sheets, reconciliation summaries, P&L analysis.
• Preparation of reporting packs for The Star Brisbane and business units where required
• Preparation of Regulatory Reporting
• Investigate and resolve transactional issues (such as misallocations, late adjustments, inter-company mismatches). Escalate where required.
• Assist business partners and groups with accounting and reporting queries.
• Perform analysis of P&L to assist with month end processing
• Investigation and resolution of internal accounting process or control issues
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives

What are we looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CA/ CPA qualified (or currently studying)
• Experience in similar financial accounting role (+3 years)
